Last week I posted about using the Ideal Shape plan to get back on track for eating healthier.
This week was going to be my “get ready” week. Well, it was a busy pet sitting week for the first 4 days so I must admit I was really drive-through happy so far.
I am trying to be mindful of my actions lately, and am sensing a pattern here of always grabbing UNHEALTHY options when I am out and about.
Now that I know the problem, I am going to work on a solution.
Today I had the entire day “off” (meaning I didn’t have to go anywhere.) For breakfast, I made coffee in my awesome Ninja Coffee Bar, and added a scoop of chocolate Ideal Shake to it with a dollop of cream. I added coffee ice cubes. It tasted pretty yummy, sort of “Frappuccino” like.
That tided (is that a word?) me over until nearly noon. For lunch I made a mango turmeric concoction. I combined ideas from a couple other recipes I found on Pinterest and adding a scoop of Ideal Shake vanilla. I’ll post my recipe below. Just finished slurping the last of it and I should be good until dinner!
I am convinced that if I never had to leave the house for more than an hour a day, I’d be thin.
I’d make food at home and eat relatively healthy meals. Unfortunately for my waistline, I do have to do pet visits, and sometimes I’m gone for hours at a time. I don’t bring anything with me to eat, and when I get hungry, it is my terrible habit to supersize my order since I love me some French fries!!!
Each time I finish my drive through meal, it occurs to me that I should have brought something from home to eat. Next time I get home, when the thought pops up again, I dismiss it. For some reason I simply shut down when I think about preparing food to take with me.
That is going to change. I am going to become a meal planning extraordinaire.
I started working on meal planning a few months ago, but haven’t gotten further than figuring out what is for dinner each week. Starting now, I’m going to focus on each meal on days I will be out and about. It is my goal to plan dinners every day and plan things to take with me on days I know I will be leaving the house in the morning.
Getting together a meal plan for the rest of the month is on my to do list for this weekend. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Meanwhile, here is the mango-turmeric concoction I created :). If you try it, please let me know if you liked it!!
Mango Turmeric Shake
8 oz brewed Peach Ginger Tea
1 scoop vanilla Ideal Shake Powder (or brand of choice) (Just an FYI, Ideal Shape is having a huge sale now on bundles. This is how I got most of the flavors at deep discounts last year!!)
½ cup frozen mango
1 tsp powdered ginger
1 tsp powdered turmeric
1 tbsp coconut oil
½ tsp black pepper
Blend in Ninja or other high speed blender until frothy.
If not cold enough, add ice cubes.
I’m interested anything you have to say about meal planning. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome!!! Feel free to comment below.
