I’ve always been an avid reader of fiction. As an only child living 5 miles from town and the nearest neighbor over a mile away, I had a lot of solitary time. Luckily my mother instilled a love of reading in me at an early age. One of my fondest memories is of us going to the library every week. I got SO excited to pick out a stack of new books every time. In elementary school, my favorite period was the once a week “Library” time we had. In middle school and high school, there was always a novel on my desk along with my text books and note book in case I finished an assignment early and needed to pass the time. As an adult, I always had a book at work, in my purse and in my car for the same reason. There is just something about the magic that happens when you are reading a great story and can be sitting in a room holding a book physically, but mentally you are totally involved in the story the words are creating.
Another fond memory I have in regards to reading is sharing books with other book lovers. My mom and aunt and I always share books with each other. I had a good friend at my last office job who loved books and we exchanged as well. The magic of the internet now allows connection with others from far away places, so it isn’t conducive to actually exchange books physically, but giving reviews and recommendations works nearly as well!
My all-time FAVORITE fiction:
There are many hundreds, if not thousands of other books I have read in my life, but each of these has made my all time favorite list and most of them I have read more than once.
